Your Abhyasika
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Your Abhyasika ('we', 'us') collects when you use our website, web app, and any related mobile apps (the 'Service'), and how we use, share, and protect it.
Last updated: 29 August 2026
1. Information we collect
We collect information in a few ways:
- Account information — name, email address, and role (student, parent, or teacher) when you sign up.
- Profile information — grade, board (CBSE/ICSE/IB/State), subjects, school name, target exam, and (for parent accounts) a child's profile details.
- Learning activity — the lessons and courses you access, quiz and flashcard attempts, answers you submit, scores, mastery and progress data, and messages you send to the AI tutor chat.
- Technical data — IP address, browser/device type, and basic usage logs, collected automatically to keep the Service working and secure.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects your payment details directly; we do not receive or store your full card or bank details.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account, and to show you the right lessons, courses, and difficulty level.
- To generate practice questions, explanations, flashcards, and AI tutor responses personalised to your grade, board, and performance.
- To track your progress and mastery over time, and to power dashboards and analytics you and (for child accounts) your parent can see.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service, including diagnosing bugs and preventing abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account, product updates, or in response to feedback you submit.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions, where applicable.
3. AI processing & third-party AI providers
Much of the Service — practice questions, explanations, flashcards, AI tutor chat replies, and automated feedback on your answers — is generated using third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI and Google). To generate this content, relevant inputs (for example, your chat messages, the lesson topic, or your submitted answers) are sent to these providers for processing.
- Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information (health details, financial information, government ID numbers, etc.) in chat messages or free-text answers — only share what's needed for your learning question.
- AI providers process this data under their own data-handling terms to generate a response; we do not permit them to use your data to train their general-purpose models beyond what's needed to serve your request, where such controls are available.
- AI-generated content can be inaccurate — see our Terms & Conditions for details on that.
4. Children's privacy
Your Abhyasika is used by school-age learners, including children under 18. Where a child uses the Service under a parent or guardian's account, the parent/guardian is responsible for reviewing this Policy and consenting on the child's behalf.
We collect only the information needed to support a child's learning (profile, grade/board, and learning activity, as described above) and do not knowingly use children's data for third-party advertising. A parent or guardian can review, correct, or request deletion of a child's data at any time by contacting us — see "Your choices" below.
7. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — such as encrypted connections and access-controlled databases — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe and to respond quickly to any issue.
8. Data retention
We retain account and learning-activity data for as long as your account is active, so we can continue showing accurate progress and mastery history. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep some data for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
9. Your choices & rights
You can, at any time:
- Review and update your profile information from Settings.
- Ask us to export, correct, or delete your (or your child's) personal data.
- Ask us questions about how your data is used.
To do any of this, reach out through the in-app Feedback form and we'll get back to you.
10. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party sites or services we don't control. This Policy doesn't cover how those third parties handle your information — please review their own privacy policies.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
12. Contact us
